Hello, World!

Thank you for bringing up my web page. I want to share some humor and entertainment on this blog site, but I will admit that my primary interests are to talk about those two things that we’ve always been told to never talk about: politics and religion. If you haven’t done so already, I suggest that you watch the videos that I’ve included in this website. And then in the Politics section you will find several topics and tools (such as the National Debt Clock) which should help to make you, and anyone else, more aware of the actual issues which we are facing today. And then in the Religion section are several topics which may help to give you a new perspective on how God works, including my “Best of the Holy Bible” topic which should help if you find that normal reading of the Bible is too boring. (A few books of the Old Testament can really be laborious if you’re not a Biblcal scholar.) I hope too that if you will take the time to review some of these things, you will agree too that I always try to employ another necessary ingredient for avoiding more trouble — some good old fashioned common sense. God gave you a heart, yes; but he also gave you a brain so that you can listen to your heart with balance.

I’m extremely disturbed by what I believe to be happening to our country. I am totally convinced that the blamestream media (oops, I meant to say the “mainstream media” ;o) ) media is simply not doing their job. This country that we’ve been blessed with is in great peril as it has never been before. Every day our leaders are showing less-and-less respect to the U.S. Constitution. They now talk it down. They tell us that it’s outdated and old fashioned. They say that it needs to be a living document which changes with the times. Remember though, the Constitution was very much designed and based on Godly principles. To suggest that these principles change is to suggest that God changes. Is that so? Read the ten commandments. (Included on this web page in the Religion section.) They were written about 4,000 years ago. Now, temporarily, for the sake of those who don’t believe that there is God (it may be a surprise to some, but many people didn’t believe there was actually a God back then either), I will let you ignore the first four commandments (although for the believers they are just as valid now as they were back then).  So of the remaining six, which of those commandments is less valid today as they were back then. The answer, of course, is that they are all very good standards for all of us to live by. That’s because the basic principles of right and wrong do not change over time and, again, the Constitution was based on those very same principles. That’s why when we lived by the rule-of-law that were extensions of the U.S. Constitution, we became the greatest and most free nation to ever exist in all of history. But, it is becoming more and more obvious that President Obama has no respect for those laws. He’s admitted publicly, and on the record, that he feels they are far too restrictive. He’s also said, off record, that he believes he “has a gift,” as in, that he knows more than those that have come before him. As a result, he and his administration are now forcefully, and very often illegally, changing our country as he wants it. He’s said repeatedly that he doesn’t want to just apply first aid to our country. He wants to change “the very backbone” (his words) of this nation. No country is perfect. Countries are very complex and therefore perpetually problematic. But just because we’ve have some major problems that means to be addressed doesn’t mean that the country is fatally broken, and capitalism, although sometimes a victim of too much greed just as every other social system is, is not fatally broken either. (I think Milton Friedman said it best when Phil Donahue asked Milton on Phil’s show if Mr. Friedman didn’t have to agree that capitalism is inherently wrong because of all the greed. Mr. Friedman replied, “What is greed? Of course, we are never greedy. It’s only the other fella that is greedy.” Milton Friedman also added that there almost always exists extreme greed at the top among those who are supposedly insuring that all of us common folks get our fair share (and nothing more). Well, I also want to add that if you think the other fella is asking too much, then don’t buy. If you are correct, then there will soon enough be a competitor against the other fella that will offer the same thing at a lower price, or perhaps there is exists a great opportunity for you to make money by competing against the other fella.” After all, even small children understand the fairness of capitalism: “I’ll let you play with my toy if I can play with yours.” And the tenants of capitalism are often illustrated throughout the Holy Bible and they are therein always referred to with respect, not as a system of evil.) Nevertheless, we’re constantly being told now that it’s bad and it’s broken, so that they will be able to replace it with a supposedly new system which they are calling Progressive. (The word “progress” implies a movement, but have you ever noticed how they never fully define just where we are moving to?  Jesus promises us an eternal salvation from our problems. Compare that to the supposed promise the progressives give you  that if we give our lives to them, someday we could have utopia for our remaining days.  In fact, even Obama recently said that he couldn’t really define what the future is going to look like, but he’s still determined to take us there. regardless of how the majority of the people now feel about it.) These “progressive” ideas are not new. They are the very same ideas that we formerly called Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Faxism, Nazism, Stalinism, Leninism, etc. They all revolve around the theory that you as an individual are incapable of taking care of yourself and you need big government (typically thousands of miles away and with no clues to your personal traits or desires) to determine what’s best for you. All you have to do is surrender virtually all of your freedom and property, for the welfare of the “common good” as determined by the government. Meanwhile, the people in the government end up gaining more property and power in the process. Even when the government does give your money away to other, they do so with the intention of how they can do so with their highest priority being how they can do so in such a manner that will earn them the most  future votes in the process.

These belief concepts may seem to be too evil for you  to believe that they could ever be employed in the United States. But the basic tenants of the Progressive movement are virtually the very same as they were (or are) in the other systems that I just name. It’s just that Progressivism is going by a different name and it hasn’t advanced far enough yet to show just how effective it will be in totally destroying our nation if it isn’t stopped, and stopped very soon. Ask yourself, do you really feel that you have just as many freedoms now as when Obama first became President.? What about next year after the taxes go up due to the Bush roll-backs and costs start to rise  more than expected because of the Obamacare program. (It will hurt even more in about 4 years when we actually begin to see how many health services we lost.) Remember, Obama’s only been president for about a year and half now. If  you doubt me that this is their plans, then study history. Please study history. And despite anything that any of the media or politicians might be telling you, I defy anyone to show me anywhere in the Bible where it shows that  “Social Justice” or “wealth redistribution”, or anything like it as they like to refer to it now, is anything like what God intended. On the contrary, the entire Bible  from start to finish, besides being about love, is about personal responsibility.

[If you are starting to get a bit bored with this blog, then please stop view the videos and other topics that I have within this website. But if this all seems somewhat agreeable to you, then please keep on reading.]

And, I think, you cannot find any place in the  Bible where God in any way recommends that anyone’s money, or any other property, should be forcefully taken from those who rightfully own it so that it can be “redistributed” to those who did not earn it. In fact, the very early Christian Church tried living a community lifestyle, and it didn’t work even among those earliest saints. So “community living” there was abandoned. The earliest Pilgrims in America tried commune living, and again it didn’t work. It was abandoned then too. The Hippies tried it. Whatever happened to all those communes that they had if community living was so successful? The truth is that God made men in such a manner that it is only natural that each person will work harder if he or she knows that there will be some type of personal benefit as a result of their labor, and they are likely to not work very hard if their is no reason to. But after we have received blessings, God want us to take small portions of those blessings and give them back to the Lord (tithing), and then we are to give some of our excess to those less fortunate than ourselves (charity). We do these latter things to show our continued faith in God, and also to show our love (caring) for our fellow men. But God never approved of anyone, or any government, denying the people of that individual choice to be charitable which is what happens when our earnings are forcefully taken from us (in the form of taxation) before we receive them. And most especially there is no ultimate good resulting when the recipients of our stolen property are people who didn’t even have to work for it, or is being inappropriately being kept by the government  itself. Saint Paul said it very simply in Thessalonians 3:10-11: “If a man will not work, he shall not eat. (NIV)” Trust me, as a person who has bagged groceries for hundreds of food-stamp-paying  people (who usually drove much nicer cars than I could afford even when I was an active military service man); and also as a person who, after my military “retirement” delivered mail to hundreds of entitlement recipients on “social assistance” (so that I could see directly how they lived — many were disgusting); and also as a person who has served meals and mentored at the local homeless shelter (having talked with dozens of the residents); I’m sad to say that I am very much of the opinion that most of the people who are receiving most of the benefits have no desire to work very hard.

Do these statements sound too extreme to you? Well, then, you are free to comment at the end of this topic or you can even email me at ronloney@cox.net and explain to me the differences because I am a seeker of the truth despite what it might cost me, and if I am ever wrong, I most certainly want to know it.

(You can read this next paragraph if you want to, or you can skip to the following paragraph if you are getting bored.  I do want you to finish this page.)

To repeat (because this is very important), the word progressivism is  just another innocent-sounding name which the government is now using to make many among the people think that they are taking us into the future, when if fact the basic foundations of the process have been tried hundreds of times before, and these past efforts have always  resulted in abject failure and almost always, in innumerable deaths. total control of our lives while trying to convince us that we are not capable of taking care of ourselves (even though we’ve been doing just that more gloriously than any other country in history for over 200 years).  Unfortunately, government control over our schools and the majority of our press has already convinced too many Americans that government control is more compassionate than individual responsibility. Please keep-in mind that every time the government gets bigger, our personal freedoms become less. Do you feel as free now as you did two years ago? And keep in mind that most of Obama’s “successes” haven’t even taken control yet. For instance, if government health care is allowed to come to force, it will never be able to be reversed and the government will have full control of your body. Ask the people in Massachusetts if their health care is better now than it was before their state government took it over. Ask any Indian yet living on any American Indian reservation just how good their health care is. For that matter, ask the citizens of any other country where government health care exists if they think their health care is better than ours. In addition to health care, the government has not seized control of much of our banking and insurance agency, much of our car industry and several other industries, they have plans to install “smart monitors” in every home so that they can control our “creature comforts,” and they are currently well on their way to ruining our oil industry. I often challenge people who want the government to do more to tell me of one thing that they are currently doing right. Everything they do loses money, but they always have us, our children, and our grandchildren to to pay for their losses. (Exception: the military and the police and fire departments generally do a very good job, but that is because they are comprised of people who have essentially and unselfishly devoted their entire lives to protecting us.) And Obama is now on his way of getting his Cap and Trade bill passed, which will give the federal government the power to tax the very air that every one of us breathes. How bad does it have to get before enough people realize that it’s gone too far. Must it already be too late to reverse the process before that realization? I personally served for over 24 years in the military and yet, as a supposed retiree, I feel I must fight harder for the survival of the freedoms, that we’ve all taken for granted, than I have ever fought in my life.

If you care at all about the millions who have already sacrificed their lives so that you and I could inherit the greatest country and freedoms ever known to mankind (despite all its imperfections), or if you care at all about yourself, or especially – if you care at all about the futures of you children and their children; or even if you just care about God — then there has never been a more critical time in the history of our country for you to be awake and start doing whatever you can do right now. If we just wait around to see what will happen, it will be too late. I can help you see what’s happening and tell you what we all need to be doing right now.

(I have an article on this site entitled “What To Do Now…” that should give you some ideas of what you can do now.)

An interjection, perhaps, but a couple of strong recommendations: If you aren’t already doing so, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU RELIGIOUSLY WATCH THE DAILY GLENN BECK SHOW ON THE FOX NEWS CHANNEL. It’s on at 5:00pm EST (4:00pm CST). To put it simply, Glenn Beck, with his massive network of worldwide investigators) is presenting America with much information that you simply cannot find anywhere else. It’s usually presented on TV much more effectively than on his radio show. Then, if you can find the time, LISTEN TO THE MARK LEVINE RADIO SHOW. I usually listen to on the MARKLEVINSHOW.COM (no “e” on Levin) website (click on Listen Live) where more than a month of his latest daily radio shows are available. It’s totally free and his normal 3 hours a day of broadcasting is already condensed to just a little more than 100 minutes. Also, I would also like to highly suggest that you go to the YouTube website (youtube.com) and do a simple search on “Milton Friedman.” This seemingly simple man was one of the world’s best-known economists, and an absolute genius in common sense.

If anybody can actually show me, or factually explain to me, where any part of what I’m telling is erroneous. I would immediately correct and confess to being wrong to anything if that were so, In fact, I would gladly celebrate it if any of my deepest fears about this nation, along with most of the rest of the world, are wrong.

Thank you for reading at least this much of my blogs and may God continue to bless us more than we deserve.
